Delos Data, a semiconductor startup founded by former Intel executives, has raised $100 million to develop networking technology for AI systems, Reuters reported.
As clusters grow, performance depends not only on the accelerators but also on how quickly data moves between them. Networking can become the bottleneck that limits utilisation and raises the energy cost of training and inference.
The funding reflects investor interest in the less visible layers of the AI stack. Delos will now have to show that its architecture can integrate with established systems and deliver advantages at commercial scale.
